Festive Butter Mints

Super easy and yummy.

Ingredients
1/3
cup unsalted butter
1/4
cup whipping cream
1/4
tsp salt
4
cups powdered sugar
1/2
tsp peppermint extract
1
(2 tbsp) corn syrup
food coloring (optional
Directions
1.
Heat butter, cream and salt in medium saucepan over medium heat just until simmering.
2.
Remove from heat.
3.
Add sugar and extract, mixing until well blended.
4.
Add a few drops of food coloring as desired.
5.
Knead on clean surface dusted with powdered sugar until smooth.
6.
Roll into balls or ropes. Form into snowmen, candy canes or press into candy molds for other holiday shapes.
7.
Add the corn syrup if needed to soften for shaping.
8.
Store in sealed containers for soft mints or loosely covered for dry mints.
