Yogurt Parfait

Easy for the morning or even as a snack later on in the day!

Ingredients
1/3
cup sliced almonds
1
tbsp honey
1
cup pitted fresh sweet cherries
3/4
plain yogurt
1
tsp vanilla extract
Directions

Mix the yogurt with the honey, and vanilla extract. Add the sliced almonds on top and then the pitted cherries on top on that. Enjoy!

Don't forget that yogurt comes from milk. So yogurt has animal protein (about 9 grams per 6-ounce serving), plus several other nutrients found in dairy foods, like calcium, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-12, potassium, and magnesium. Yogurt also contains probiotics. Probiotics are "friendly bacteria" that are naturally present in the digestive system. Live strains of these "good bacteria" are also found in many yogurt products. Yogurt can therefore help boost the immune system and promote a healthy digestive tract.
