Apple Pie

Ingredients
Crust:
1 1/2
sticks margarine or butter
Little less than 2 cups of flour

egg yolk

cup sugar
Filling:

cup sugar

tbsp flour

tsp cinnamon

tsp nutmeg

tsp salt

cup thinly sliced tart apples (4-6 apples)
2
tbsp lemon juice
2
tbsp margarine/butter
Directions

Crust:

Blend with pastry cutter until it feels like sand. Add cognac or water until it holds together. Roll into 2 balls and chill.

Filling:

Have crust ready. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together.
5.
Peel apples. Slice thinly and toss with lemon juice. Add sugar mixture to apples.
6.
Roll out crust and put in pie pan. Place apples in the crust, higher in the center.

Dot the apples with margarine.
8.
Put on the top crust and slice some openings.
9.
Bake at 425 for 30 minutes, then 15-20 minutes more on 350, until apples are tender and crust is golden.
10.
Note: Put a pan underneath the pie to catch the juices that will overflow. You may want to put foil or a pie protector over the crust edges to keep them from burning.
