cups cooked wild rice

tbsp butter

cup flour
3
cups chicken broth
1
tbsp onion, chopped finely
1/2
cup celery, chopped finely
1/2
cup carrots, chopped finely
1/2
cup ham, chopped finely
1
cup half and half
3
tbsp almonds
Directions
1.
Cook rice and drain water out; simmer for 45 minutes.
2.
Blend butter and flour over medium heat until the mixture is smooth.
3.
Add onion, saute until tender.
4.
Gradually add chicken broth until smooth, add celery, carrots, and ham. Cook for about 15 minutes.
5.
Add rice, almonds, and half and half. Heat through, but do not boil.
