tsp nutmeg
pinch of ground cloves

tsp baking soda

cups flour
Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan thoroughly

With a wooden spoon, mix melted butter into the mashed bananas in a mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, vanilla, then the spices.

Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in- Then add the flour and mix, just until the flour is incorporated. If you are including nuts, add them last and blend just until they are distributed (3-4 turns)

Pour mixture into the buttered loaf pan.

Bake for 1 hour, or until a tester comes out clean. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve
