French Onion Soup

I (Mom) makes this for Christmas dinner every year for the Morrison side. This is (Joan Grandma's) Favorite- I think she would be upset if we didn't have it. :) I times it by three when a make it for 15 people. The recipe as is serves 4 people

Ingredients

medium onions thinly sliced

tbsp butter
1 1/2
tsp flour

( 14 - ounce) cans beef broth
salt and pepper
4
slices French bread toasted
1/2
cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
1.
sauté onions in butter in large saucepan over medium heat until tender
2.
sprinle onions with flour. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring continually until golden brown
3.
add broth, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 20 minutes preheat broiler
4.
ladle the soup into ovenproof bowls. top each with toast slice and sprinkle with mozzarella. Broil until cheese melts.
