Grandma Scotton's Praline Pumpkin Pie

Since my family is from the south, North Carolina, I thought I would include some of my grandmother's recipes that are family favorites of ours.

Ingredients

eggs
1/2
cup white sugar
1/2
firmly packed brown sugar

tbsp flour
1
tsp salt
1
tbsp vanilla
1
/2c pumpkin
1
cup milk
1/2
cup finely grated coconut
1
ready bake crust
Directions
1.
Mix all ingredients

Pre-bake the pie crust in an oven preheated to 450 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350. Add all of the mixed ingredients to the pie shell and bake at 350 until brown. Sprinkle topping over the pie and bake again until browned.

While pie bakes make the praline topping

2 TBSP brown sugar

2 TBSP Butter or margarine

3/4 C chopped pecans

Melt butter and brown sugar in saucepan. Add pecans and cook until soupy. Spread topping over pie with spatula once pie is brown. Continue baking until topping turns brown on top of pie. YUM!
