Alison's Shortbread Cookies

You can never make enough of these cookies. Make them nice and thick, but use TINY cookie cutters. They are very rich and delicious. Judy especially loves to make off with these cookies...

Ingredients
cookie dough
1
cup butter, softened
1/2
cup Fruit (Fast dissolving) Sugar
2
cups of white flour
icing
1/2
cup butter
cream
icing sugar
almond extract
Directions
1.
Cream butter and sugar together until very creamy and then beat in the flour.

Sprinkle a little flour on your pastry sheet, form dough into ball, flour rolling pin
3.
and roll out dough to 1/3 inch thickness or so, not too thin.
4.
Cut with small cutters and place on sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 - 22 minutes.
5.
Length of baking depends on whether you like bottom browned a bit.
6.
For the icing, put the butter in the mixer. Start adding icing sugar, cream or milk alternately until it tastes right.
7.
Put in Almond Extract to taste, I like lots so probably a Tablespoon or so.
