Butter Chicken

My mom has perfected her butter chicken recipe after 40 years of experimenting in the kitchen. This recipe has become a favorite while gathering with friends and family.

Ingredients

pieces of chicken thighs

cup ground ginger

tsp garam masala
1/4
tsp small cardamom powder
8
oz sour cream
1/2
cup heavy cream
1
tsp lemon juice
pinch red powder color
Sauce
1/4
cup thinly sliced ginger
12
oz sour cream
1/4
cup milk
4
oz tomato paste
1/4
cup oil
1/2
bunch chopped coriander leaves
2
green chilies
Directions
1.
Place in the chicken in a large bowl. Mix ground ginger, garam masala, and cadarmom powder together. Add sour cream, heavy cream, lemon juice and red powder color. Place in the fridge for 4 hours

Pre heat the oven to 425 degrees. Bake the chicken in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add ginger. Saute the ginger in the pan for one minute.

Stir in tomato paste and cook for 5 minutes.

Stir in sour cream and cook for 5 minutes.
6.
Add the chicken and let it simmer. Continue cooking until the oil and sauce separate.
7.
Add green chilies and coriander leaves. Stir well and serve.
