Delicious and easy keema recipe that reminds us of home!

Ingredients

package ground turkey or lamb
3
tbsp oil

cinnamon sticks
1/4
tsp whole black pepper
1/4
tsp cumin seeds
1/4
tsp mustard seeds
1
onion, chopped
2
tomatoes, chopped
1
tsp ginger garlic paste
1
tsp turmeric
1
tsp coriander powder
1
tsp cumin powder
1
tsp cayenne pepper
salt to taste
Directions
1.
In a pan, heat 1 tbs oil and add cinnamon sticks and whole black pepper and meat. Cook until slightly browned.
2.
In a separate large pan make the masala starting with 2 tbs oil, cumin and mustard seeds. Add the chopped onions. Once browned, add the remaining ingredients: tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, coriander, cumin, cayenne pepper.
3.
Add a cup of water and let the masala cook

Once cooked, add another 1/2 cup water along with the meat, peas and salt.
5.
Cover on low heat for 30-40 mins and mix in 2 tbs yogurt to preserve the tenderness
