Mother's Tandoori Chicken

The tastiest, juiciest, melt in your mouth tandoori chicken.

Ingredients

chicken pieces - with or without bone

cup diced onions

tsp chili powder
1
tsp cumin
1/2
tsp coriander powder
3
tbsp garlic paste
2
tbsp ginger paste
3/4
cup yogurt
1/2
cup tandoori paste
1
tsp garam masala powder
1
stick butter or ghee
1 1/2
salt
Directions
1.
Mix all ingredients and marinate the chicken overnight.
2.
Pre-heat oven to 425 F
3.
Put chicken and rest of marinade in baking pan. Put thin slices of butter (or ghee) spread over the chicken.
4.
Cook covered for 20 minutes. The high heat will bring out the red coloring.
5.
Lower temperature to 325-350 F. Cook until sauce is thick.(approx. 45 min - hr)
6.
*If you are cooking chicken with bones, cook for half hr longer on a lower temperature. It will make the meat tender, so it falls off the bones.
