Nana made this soup all the time, one of your dad's favorites. I must have tried to make this soup 5 times before getting it right, Nana had to come over and make it so I could watch. Finally I understood. It's been a family favorite ever since. Usually Nana makes this soup after the holidays from the leftover ham and bone (Easter, Christmas).
