Ingredients

cups flour

cup sugar

package yeast

tsp orange peel

eggs

tbsp anisette
1/2
cup butter
1/2
cup milk
1/2
cup raisins
1/2
cup dry fruit
1/2
cup water
4
raw colored eggs
Directions
1.
In a large bowl combine: 1 cup flour, sugar, yeast, nutmeg, orange peel
2.
In a cup, lightly beat 3 eggs with anisette
3.
In a saucepan, place milk, water, and butter, heat until tepid (like a baby bottle); butter need not melt
4.
Add to dry ingredients, gradually mixing by hand until well combined
5.
Add eggs
6.
Add raisins and fruit
7.
Add additional cups of flour, mixing well after each
8.
Knead on floured board 8-10 minutes
9.
Place in greased bowl in warmed for 1 minute 1 hour to double
10.
Divide into 2 ropes. Twist with eggs on greased pizza pan forming a ring, tuck in ends. Let rise one hour
11.
Preheat oven to 350° baked for 30-35 minutes
12.
Finish with confectioners' icing
