Italian Sauce

Sauce can be used for many things. Lasagna, Spaghetti, chicken dishes, stuffed shells, etc.

Ingredients
2
lb ground Italian sausage.
1
large onion chopped.
1
green pepper coarsely chopped.
1
tsp garlic powder or 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped.
3
cans (12 oz) tomato paste.
9
cups water.
3
tbsp of sugar.
1
tbsp Oregano.
1
tsp Sweet Basil.
1/2
tsp pepper
Container of fresh mushrooms sliced (optional).
Directions
1.
Saute the Italian sausage, onions and garlic until cooked. Drain grease.
2.
Add meat, onion and garlic mixture to large kettle.
3.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until well blended.
4.
Simmer on low for a couple hours, taste and add any seasonings you think it still might need.
5.
Makes enough to freeze (8-quart pot full)
6.
Use for spaghetti, chicken, sausage dishes, etc.
