Broccoli Casserole

Ingredients

(16 oz) bags frozen broccoli head crowns.
1/2
chopped onion.
(Cream Sauce)
4
tbsp flour or cornstarch.
4
tbsp butter.
2
cups milk.
1/2
tsp salt.
6
oz cream cheese.
(Topping)

tbsp butter.
1
cup cubed bread crumbs.
1/4
cup Parmesan cheese.
Directions

Cook broccoli: Place broccoli in 9 x 13 glass dish. Mix in onions and salt. Cover with wax paper. Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes. Mix again. Set aside.

Cream Sauce:

Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour or cornstarch to butter and stir constantly until starts to thicken. Add milk slowly stirring until white sauce thickens; add cream cheese and cook until melts. Add a little more milk if too thick. Pour over broccoli/onion mixture.

Bake 15-20 minutes at 350°.

While baking broccoli and sauce, make topping.

Melt butter for topping in skillet. Mix bread cubes and Parmesan cheese together and add to melted butter until well blended. Sprinkle over broccoli and return to oven for another 15 minutes.
