Soft And Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are a go to in my house. My son and husband love to sit down together with a couple glasses of milk and a dozen or so cookies. My son has been helping me to make these cookies for years.

Prep
Cook
Serves 20people
Ingredients
1/2
cup granulated sugar
1
cup light brown sugar
1
cup (2 stick) butter *i use salted
2
large eggs
1
tbsp vanilla extract
2 1/4
cups all purpose flour
1
tsp Salt
1/2
tsp Baking Soda
2 1/2
cups chocolate chips
may add 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 degrees for convection ovens)
2.
In large mixing bowl combine sugars, add butter and beat until light and we'll mixed.
3.
Add eggs and vanilla extract to butter/sugar mixture, whip about 2-3 minutes.
4.
Add salt and baking soda, mix well.
5.
Slowly add the flour (about a 1/4 cup at a time) while beating until all the flour is mixed in.
6.
Mix in the chocolate chips (and nuts if desired).
7.
Use a teaspoon to drop dough 2 inches apart on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
8.
Bake on middle rack 9-11 minutes. For softer fall apart cookies only bake 9 minutes. For soft and chewy yet still full cookies bake 10-11 minutes (edges will just start to turn golden.)
9.
After taking out of the oven let them set until flat and slightly cooled.
