Ingredients

tbsp milk powder
3
tbsp flour
1/4
tsp bicarbonate of soda
1
tin cream
2
tbsp cooking oil
sugar balls (optional)
for the syrup
3
cups sugar
4
cups water
Directions
1.
Mix the ingredients for the syrup, and keep warm.
2.
Mix the flour and soda, and add the milk powder.
3.
Gradually mix in the cream (the whole tin may not be needed).
4.
Add the oil, and mix into a soft dough, which should then be shaped into balls.
5.
Push one sugar ball into the centre of each ball, and keep covered.
6.
Deep fry in low heat until evenly browned.
7.
Place balls in syrup and serve.
