Seven Layer Casserole

This was one of mom's recipes which she wrote down on Feb 3, 1962 but the recipe is actually from the 1950's. I like the flavor the smoked bacon adds to the rest of the food

Ingredients

cup uncooked rice
1
cup canned whole kernel corn, drained
Salt and pepper to taste
2-8
oz cans tomato sauce
6
oz water
1/2
cup onion, finely chopped
1/2
cup green onion, finely chopped

# uncooked ground beef
4
strips bacon, cut in half
Directions

Heat oven to 350*. Place the ingredients in layers in a 2 qt baking dish with a tight fitting lid:

corn

sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour over 1 8 oz can tomato sauce + ½ can water

onion and pepper

ground beef
7.
sprinkle with salt and pepper and pour over second 8 oz can of tomato sauce + ¼ can of water
8.
cover meat with 4 strips of bacon
9.
Cover and bake at 350* for 1 hour. Uncover and bake 30 min until bacon is crisp
