Apple Pie

This makes one of the best apple pies ever, but I do admit that it takes time to peel and chop the apples. If you want a quicker alternative, just substitute frozen peaches, blueberries, or pitted cherries for delicious alternatives.

Prep
Cook
Serves 8people
Ingredients
1
puff pastry pie shell
5
Golden Delicious apples, peeled and sliced thinly
1/2
cup sugar, divided
1
tsp cinnamon
1/4
cup cold water
2
tbsp cornstarch
3/4
cup flour
5-6
tbsp oil
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 400.
2.
Dissolve cornstarch in water. In a large pot, mix with apples, 1/4 c. sugar, and cinnamon. Cook on medium heat, stirring regularly, until thick or just boiling. Pour into pie shell.
3.
Mix 1/4 c. sugar with flour. Cut in oil until crumbly. Sprinkle crumbs over apples.
4.
Bake in preheated oven until apples are soft and the crumbs are lightly browned, approximately 40 minutes.
