Miriam Kaz's Challah

This is Miriam's mother-in-law's recipe, and it's generally foolproof. It also doesn't take so long to prepare.

Ingredients

lb Flour
6
Pkgs Yeast

tbsp Salt
1
cup Oil
5
cups Warm Water
10-12
tbsp Sugar
1
Egg
Directions
1.
Pour all the flour in a bowl. Mix the yeast dry into the flour. Add the salt and sugar, and mix well.
2.
Heat oil until hot to touch but not boiling. Add it to the flour.
3.
Slowly add water to the dough, and mix as you add it.
4.
Knead very well- use your elbows!
5.
Cover the dough, and let it rise for 20 minutes.
6.
Braid.
7.
Let it rise for 1 1/2 hours.
8.
Egg the tops, and sprinkle whatever seeds you like.
9.
Bake 15 minutes.
10.
Enjoy!
