Breton Brittle

Ingredients

Breton crackers (original)

cup butter or hard margarine
1
cup brown sugar, packed
Topping
1 2/3
cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3
cup finally chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Directions
1.
Overlap crackers in lined 9 x 13 pan so the bottom is covered. Use 4 crackers by 7 crackers.
2.
Stir butter and brown sugar together in saucepan until it comes to a boil. Pour carefully over crackers.

Bake 400’ for 5 minutes.

Topping

Scatter,chocolate chips over top. Let stand until soft.
6.
Spread to cover.
7.
Sprinkle with nuts.
8.
Cool.
9.
Store in refrigerator.
10.
Break or cut into pieces.
