Easy Hummus

This delicious dip or spread is easy and inexpensive, but you must have Tahini (sesame seed paste) on-hand. Ingredients include optional additions for variations on flavor.

Ingredients

can chick peas (garbanzos), drained

tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)
juice of 1/2 lemon
1
clove garlic, crushed
1/4
cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
1/2
tsp salt
1/2
tsp paprika
optional (use one or more)
additional juice of 1/2 lemon
1-2
tbsp chopped olives (greek or other)
chopped fresh herbs such as cilantro, basil or dill

tsp red pepper flakes
finely diced jalapeno pepper
Directions
1.
Place in the bowl of a food processor: drained chick peas, Tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.
2.
Process until a thick paste forms then slowly add: olive oil. For a lighter finish, add two Tbs of cold water and continue to process.
3.
Add salt and any optional ingredients and pulse to combine.
4.
Once in a serving bowl, make a well in the center and garnish with a drizzle of EVOO and a dusting of paprika
