Cholent

Just like chicken soup and the other classics, I had no idea how to make cholent. In case the same goes for you, here is the recipe.

Prep
Cook
Serves 8people
Ingredients
1
cup Cholent Bean Mix
1/2
cup Barley
1
Pkg Flanken
5
tbsp Ketchup
1
tbsp Honey
1
tbsp Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder
1
Onion
2
Potatoes
Directions
1.
Soak the beans overnight.
2.
In the morning, drain them. Put the flanken in the bottom of the croc-pot, and the beans on top.
3.
Add ketchup, honey and spices.
4.
Cut the onion and potatoes and add them too.
5.
Pour water to cover everything, and put on high for 2 hours.
6.
Turn to low until ready to eat it.
7.
Tip: Cholent tastes different every week for some reason. I usually end up adding whatever I have in my fridge to it. Sometimes that's barbecue sauce, or soy sauce or sometimes even coke!
