Serves 6people
Ingredients

cups Shortening
3
cups Flour
1
tsp Salt
1
tsp Sugar
1
Egg, beaten
5
tbsp Cold Water
1
tbsp Cider Vinegar
1
cup Sugar
1/3
cup Cocoa
3
Eggs, slightly beaten
1
tbsp Margarine, melted
1
tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/2
cups Pecan Halves
Directions
1.
Crust: Put shortening, flour, salt and sugar into a large bowl and mix well, until it looks like crumbs. Pour in the egg, water and vinegar and stir. Separate into 2 balls of dough and freeze them. (You'll only need one.)

Remove one ball after about 20 minutes and roll it out on a floured surface. Place the dough in a pie pan and tuck the edges around. Give it a good crust.
3.
Place in the fridge until you are ready to fill it.
4.
Filling: Preheat oven 350 degrees.
5.
Combine all the ingredients except the pecans in a large bowl. Beat with a whisk until well combined. Stir in the pecans.
6.
Pour the filling into the crust and bake for 60 minutes.
7.
Cool completely before serving.
