Microwave Caramels

A recipe from my grandma Sherrie's friend!

Ingredients
1/2
cup butter
1/2
cup sugar
1/2
cup brown sugar
1/2
cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2
cup corn syrup
1
tsp vanilla
Directions
1.
Melt butter in 4-quart microwave-safe or glass bowl for 30-40 seconds on high.
2.
Stir in remaining ingredients (except vanilla)
3.
Microwave on high (950-1000 Watt) for 6 minutes & 30 seconds
4.
Stir in vanilla
5.
Pour into buttered 8x8" square pan (metal is best, since it can briefly be heated to release candy)
6.
Cool; turn out onto cutting board; cut in pieces, wrap each piece in waxed paper
7.
*do not attempt to double or halve the recipe--it won't work
