Crunchy Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients

pastry crust (homemade or store bought)
1/2
cup sugar

tbsp flour
6
cups thinly sliced peeled apples (I use granny smith)

tsp cinnamon
1/8
tsp salt
1/4
cup caramel
Crumb topping
1
cup packed brown sugar
1/2
cup quick oats
1/2
cup flour
1/2
cup butter, softened
Directions
1.
In a large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.

Add apple slices and gently toss until coated.
3.
Put mixture into unbaked pie crust.
4.
Stir together brown sugar, flour, and oats.
5.
Cut in butter until topping is like course crumbs.
6.
Sprinkle crumb topping over apples.
7.
Preheat oven to 375.
8.
Place pie pan on cookie sheet so drippings don't drop into oven.
9.
Cover edges of crust with foil.
10.
Bake for 25 minutes.
11.
Remove foil.
12.
Bake another 30 minutes.
13.
Remove from oven and drizzle with caramel topping.
14.
Let cool.
