Sara Davis' No Cook 8 Layer Bean Dip

Because Mama Says To! My mom taught me, “never show up to a party empty-handed and never be that family that shows up with all store-bought foods.” Easier said than done! My family always ends up too busy to slave in the kitchen to make that perfect party dish, so I compromise. One of our family’s favorite party go to(s) is our no-cook 8 layer bean dip. It is the party appetizer dish that always disappears first!

Prep
Cook
Serves 6people
Ingredients
2
cans (20.5 oz) of refried beans (black or brown). Recommend La Costena brand (or any other authentic Mexican brand if you can find it).
16
oz container of sour cream
1
packet of mild taco seasoning (Lawry’s is our go to)
7
oz can of diced mild green chilis
8
oz bag of finely shredded cheddar cheese (or you can use any type you like)
5/2
oz can of sliced black olives
2
tomatoes
2
ripe avocados
1
bunch green onion
2
Bags of Party Sized Tortilla Chips (We Use Tostitos Scoops)
Directions
1.
In 9x13 Pyrex spread the refried beans on the bottom of the dish. Mix the taco seasoning with the sour cream and spread that on top of the beans. Sprinkle diced chilis on top of the sour cream mixture and then top with the finely shredded cheese. Finely dice the tomatoes and spread on top of the cheese, followed by the black olives. Chop the green onion and sprinkle on top. Avocado should be cut and placed as the final layer at time of serving to avoid browning.
