Homemade Ground Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
1-1.5
lb of ground beef, browned (I always use 1.5 pounds because that is what our beef packages come in)
2-3
cans cream of mushroom
1
can of milk (I use the cream of mushroom soup can). Use more milk at the end if too thick
1-2
cans of sliced mushrooms (optional for you mushroom haters out there)
16
oz sour cream (sometimes I add a little more but depends on flavor)
1-2
packets of onion soup mix (taste after one packet and add the other if needed. I usually end up using 2 anyway)
Salt and pepper to taste
Egg noodles
Directions
1.
Brown meat (drain if needed)

Add cream of mushroom, milk, sliced mushrooms, sour cream and onion soup mix

Stir well

Taste, then add more of whatever you think it needs. This is when I normally add another packet of onion soup mix, maybe another can of cream of mushroom, sour cream etc.

The sauce should be on the thicker side (better this way, it adheres to the egg noodles better) but if it is SUPER thick, then I add a little more milk to thin it out some.

Bring all this to a slight boil then turn down and simmer for a while (the longer it simmers, the better it is).
7.
Serve over egg noodles!

Note- the sauce part of this freezes extremely well so I always double the batch, then freeze a bunch!
