Svíčková Dumplings By Stepan Bechynsky

This is the dumplings recipe portion of this Czech meat, vegetables and dumplings dish. The meat and vegetables portion of this meal is in a separate recipe due to space limitations in the recipe description. -- Karlovarský knedlík We have many kinds of duplings in Czech. Unfotunatly for majority of them you need righ flour and yeast. Based on my experience mainly cooking in US for my friends it is not easy to get it and results are bad. For this recipe I prepared dumpling prepared from toast bread. In Czech we call it „Karlovarský knedlík”

Ingredients
Sliced bread (one loaf)
Parsley
5
eggs, divided• Butter 100 g, melt it.
500
ml Milk
Salt
Pepper
Nutmeg powder ~ ½ tee spoon
Directions
1.
Cut sliced bread into small cubes
2.
Bake on pans in oven until toasted
3.
Whip 5 egg whites into a foam and set aside
4.
Combine the 5egg yolks, parsley, salt, pepper, nutmeg and milk into a bowl and mix
5.
Add toasted bread cubes
6.
Add whipped egg whites
7.
Mix together and then shape into a loaves 4-5 cm in diameter and 10-12 cmlong. Wrap loaves in plastic wrap securely and cool in a bowl of ice water.
8.
Add dumplings to the meat and vegetable roaster to finish baking.
