Cajun Chicken & Sausage Pasta

Best served with garlic knots

tbsp unsalted butter

lb chicken breast

oz cajun sausage
salt
pepper
cajun seasoning
italian seasoning
cornstarch slurry
Creamy Parmesan Sauce:

cloves of garlic (minced)

cup chicken broth
1
tbsp Worcestershire sauce

cup half and half
2
tsp cajun seasoning
1
tsp paprika
1/2
tsp garlic powder
3/4
parmesan cheese
sea salt
Pasta:

oz penne pasta
Directions

Pasta:

Boil pasta in salty water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside

Chicken and sausage:

Pound chicken breast into flatter portions to help cook evenly. Generously season chicken with salt, pepper, Cajun, and Italian seasonings.

Slice sausage into roughly 1/4 inch slices

In a large skillet, add 1 T of butter and melt over medium high heat. When the pan is hot, and the whole chicken breast and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side. Removed chicken and slice into strips.

Add sliced sausage pieces and brown them on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.

Add last off butter to the pan, allow is to melt and then cook garlic in it until slightly browned- only for a few minutes.

Add chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and half & half. Bring to a light simmer. Add Cajun seasoning, paprika, and garlic powder and mix into sauce.

Add parmesan cheese and whisk to blend into the sauce. Add salt to taste.

Slowly pour in cornstarch slurry until at desired thickness.

Add cooked pasta and mix well. Next add the chicken and sausage and let sit on low on low until meat it warmed up. About 2-3 minutes.

Serve and enjoy!!
