Fried Oysters

Ingredients
2
dozen Oysters (or 1 pint) blotted dry with paper towels
Cooking Oil (not olive) enough to cover bottom of pot about 1/2 inch
1 1/2
cups flour
1 1/2
cups cornmeal
1
tsp salt
1
tsp black pepper
1
tsp paprika
Directions
1.
Heat oil over medium heat (or to 360 degrees F if using a fryer).
2.
Pour breading mixture into paper bag and add blotted oysters- shaking bag until oysters are lightly coated.
3.
Add oysters to oil and cook for about 1.5 minutes each side, until golden brown.
4.
Remove to plate with paper towels to soak up excess oil, then quickly sprinkle with additional salt.
5.
Serve with lemon.
