Country Style Steak
My Mother, Pete Pope, made delicious Country Style Steak as I was growing up. This recipe is how she made it - even though she never wrote it down. I had to learn by watching her.
Cut cubed steak into smaller pieces and add salt/pepper to meat. Roll steak in flour. Brown steak in frying pan with cooking oil. Remove steak after browning, then add a little flour to frying pan. Brown flour, then add water to pan. Put steak back into frying pan and simmer until steak is tender and gravy has thickened. I generally cook about 1 1/2 hours. Add salt and pepper as needed.

When I make this dish, I usually make for a crowd and use 2 or 3 packages of cubed steak. You basically do it the same way except I use a big pot.
