Caramel Corn

Great for Halloween treats or to give as gifts. We used to offer it as party favors or would pass it out at Halloween for something made from home in the south.

Ingredients
2
cups brown sugar
2
sticks butter
1/2
cup white Karo syrup
1
tsp salt
6
qt quarts popped corn
1
tsp vanilla
1/2
tsp soda
Directions
1.
Pop corn. Mix first 4 ingredients and bring to boil.
2.
Boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly.
3.
Add vanilla and soda.
4.
Pour over popped corn and stir well.
5.
Put on cookie sheet then bake for 1 hour at 250°.
6.
When cool, break into bite-sized pieces.
