Grandpa's Homemade Ice Cream

So this was the best way to make homemade ice cream when you didn't have the ice cream making machine. It was always so perfect tasting because we knew my Grandfather loved to make it for us.

Ingredients
1
qt (1 cup) milk
3
eggs
2
cups sugar
2
tsp vanilla
1
pt whipping cream
Directions
1.
Bring milk and sugar to a boil.
2.
Beat eggs and add sugar until well mixed.
3.
Add egg mixture to milk mixture and cook until it coats the spoon.
4.
Remove from heat then add vanilla.
5.
Just before placing in freezer, add cream then place in freezer.
6.
Add toppings or candy pieces to taste once frozen.
