Breakfast Strata

This recipe comes from Jan Stahlheber. I made this at Christmas and took to the hospital the year Rocco was born. It is great for a brunch or special breakfast as you make it the night before.

Serves 12people
Ingredients
2
lb sausage (can be all sausage , all bacon, or both)
16
pieces white bread (decrusted and cut into cubes)
4
cups shredded cheddar cheese
12
eggs beated until fluffy
4
cups milk
1/4
cup butter melted
2
tsp salt
2
tsp mustard
Directions
1.
Cook meat, set aside.
2.
lay bread cubes, 3/4 of cheese, and meat evenly on bottom of a 9x13 (Pam sprayed) Pan.
3.
Beat eggs well
4.
Add milk, salt, mustard, butter, and beat until well blended
5.
pour liquid evenly on top
6.
sprinkle remaining cheese
7.
refrigerate overnight
8.
preheat oven to 350 bake for 1 hour, a little longer if you want it more firm
